What local chapters do

  • Create projects and plan unique opportunities and events that fill a need in the design community
  • Engage in at least one community outreach project in your region/area per year.
  • Raise public awareness of local DSA interior design professionals and DSA industry partners.
  • Create a large and diverse leadership team that values shared responsibility and is able to cultivate as well as retain member enthusiasm and participation.
  • Raise awareness of the Interior Designers Right to practice laws and to be active liaisons for the Interior Design Protection Council.
  • Grow The Designer Society of America movement! New chapters grow to 30 members or more during their first year, and continue to grow over time.
  • To not just "set a good example" but To be the best example of what a professional Interior Design Organization should be!
  • To recruit, mentor, and nurture passionate design students and new graduates so that we may help create and retain the very best, enthusiastic and most talented professionals in the Design Industry of the future!
  • Work collaboratively with other chapters and local partners to share resources, ideas, and nurture local design industry business.
  • Convene an annual meeting with all members during which leadership team elections or confirmations are held.
  • Communicate with the regional DSA director and the national office to keep them informed about your chapter's activities as well as comply with organizational policies and protocol.
